Newfane Church is a community of faith whose mission is to see and love the world as God does. We seek to nurture the spiritual health of our community through a range of ministries and programs that meet people where they are in their respective journeys and, to the best of our capacity, help them to feel grounded and surrounded, so that they might have life and life more abundantly.
Our goals, for all ages and all people, are:
I – To witness to God’s love by sharing with and caring for people in our local and global communities
As stewards of God’s boundless love, our care ranges far and wide—from providing monetary support to local farmers to assisting seniors navigating difficult end-of-life circumstances to disaster recovery help, locally and internationally. Yet despite the global scope of our care and concern for the world, the beating heart of that care begins right here in the West River Valley, where our focus has been and continues to be on ensuring that the community we call home is as
II − To provide meaningful worship experiences in a welcoming atmosphere
Our worship takes seriously the conviction that our gatherings consist of a “priesthood of all believers”; each of us, not just the pastor, has something of great value to offer to the spiritual health of our congregation and the community to which we belong. While our devotional energies and liturgy are rooted in the Christian tradition, we seek every opportunity to improve our interreligious and interspiritual hospitality. Our services regularly incorporate insights from other traditions, which help us to see and relate to God in new ways. We have learned so much—and are eager to learn more—from our spiritual neighbors, and thus to enrich the lives of everyone we encounter, within and beyond the walls of our church.
III – To offer enrichment through opportunities for learning, spiritual growth, and service—individually and collectively.
Through our Mission and Partnerships efforts, we work to enhance the quality of life in our area through numerous opportunities for hands-on service, fellowship, and educational experiences. In all we do, we seek to develop spiritual literacy so that folks gain greater clarity about who they are and how their own story connects with the story of us all. In this way, we foster a sense of community and purpose that empowers individuals to catalyze life-giving transformations, within and beyond our part of the world.
